Family to Family
Kurt Talks About the Good Sports GangWhat compelled you to do "Good Sports Gang" video series? I continually ask myself what does God want me to do? One special goal of mine is to find a way to be a positive influence on millions of kids across the country. We all know that kids see athletes as role models and I want to be a role model in everything that I do. Whether I'm a Super Bowl champion or a regular guy stocking groceries, I'm not afraid to share with kids and families the strong Christian values that I believe are right. What should people know about the project? I want people to know that I did not simply lend my name to the series. My family and I have been involved in all aspects of the project since the beginning. We did not only come up with ideas for the stories, but the production process is also a family affair. My 11-year old daughter, Jesse, was on-camera in the first program. She played even a bigger role in the second show. Zack, our oldest who is legally blind, particularly likes the songs. He plays them over and over and has definite opinions on what type of music we should have in future shows. Brenda and the younger kids, Jada and Kade, worked together on BabyGoodSports, a series for infants and toddlers. What are the stories like? Each program begins with a mission. Through video magic, my character notifies the Good Sports that their help is needed in FairField. We develop a game plan together and then I send them on their way. Of course, like any good coach, I keep in constant contact with the team and guide and motivate them in their task. Appearing in a cartoon is definitely a new role for me, but one I'm really excited and proud to talk about. What's your favorite part of "Good Sports Gang"? All of our stories, in one way or another, incorporate the teaching of strong Christian values - values that make life better for everyone. For example, the second show is called "Together We're Better" and is all about teamwork. To me, teamwork is rooted in respect...respect that God has given each person unique gifts and capabilities. So when we work together and treat others as we would want to be treated, we're simply following through on the second great commandment Jesus tells us about in Matthew 22:39: Love your neighbor as yourself. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each video and DVD goes to the Kurt Warner First Things First Foundation. [Privacy Policy | Site Map | Shop] |
